sleep is great!

Megan finally slept through the night! Ok so I realize a lot of parents go for many more months than this to get their kids to sleep through the night, but it's still a welcome change. We put her to bed at 10:45 and she didn't get up until 6am. YEAH Megan! Emma slept through the night at 6 weeks, and Nathan was maybe 7 or 8 weeks old. Megan is only nine weeks now, but it just seems like it's been so long since she was such a bad sleeper at first. I know that knowing my luck this will not continue and last night was just a fluke. But a girl can dream, right?

Hopefully I'll make it to get Emma's pictures done in the next two weeks. Also this summer we, hopefully, will be getting a new family picture made, so expect those in the mail in the coming months.

checkup time

Megan is two months old today, which means we went back to the doctor for another checkup and her first round of shots. We also had Emma's checkup to day since she just turend 4. I'm happy to report that Megan is growing well. She is 22 1/2 inches long and 10 pounds 12 ounces now. She also did great with her shots. Of course she screamed when they stuck her, but calmed down as soon as it was over. Emma on the other hand is a beast at the doctors! She cried at first when they wanted to weigh her. Then she screamed when the doctor wanted to look in her ears, and of course she had a fit when she got her two shots today. She also continued to cry and pout for a good 10 minutes after it was all over! She hates the doctor, always has, and I'm not really sure why. Emma is now 34 pounds and 40 1/4 inches tall. The doctor said she looks great and I'm hoping that is it for the shots for a while. i feel like I've been at the doctor constantly since Megan has been born, but at least everyone is healty and growing well.

Disney on Ice

Last night Emma and I went with my cousin and her daughter to the Disney on Ice princess wishes show. I had such a good time wathcing all the little girls watch the show. They were all so cute. Everytime a new princess would come out their little eyes would light up and they all got so excited. The show was really good too! They had some excllent skaters and did some great tricks, but by far the best part of the show was the excitement of all the kids there.
Emma watched the entire show like this:

Because we went with Maddie's girl scout troop, Emma earned a patch too! She's been carrying it around all day.

Spring Cleaning

Holy cow am I tired! This year I have taken spring cleaning to a new level. My mom came over yesterday and we steam cleaned the carpets. As my mom pointed out several times yesterday, "My house is just too damn big!" It took us 12 hours to clean all the carpet in the house. And we didn't take many breaks. I love how clean the house is now, though. While mom ran the machine I cleaned the windows and dusted all the furniture. Plus I had taken everything out of all the closet floors, so now I am reorganizing the way everything is stored. I hope this means our house will stay organized and picked up for a while, as I am not interested in redoing this any time soon. I remember when I was a kid and mom would clean all the carpets in our house. That was much better than doing my own house, because then I was sent outside to play and stay out of her way! I am glad we did it and our house looks great now. Thanks mom!!!

nice weather

This past weekend was so nice here. On Saturday we went to mom's to help cut up a tree that fell, and then on Sunday we went to Matt's to help split all the wood and stack his woodpile. The kids played outside almost all weekend. They also stayed the night at Grandma's on Saturday. I think we are all glad spring weather is finally here. It was a long weekend though, so we were all tired by Sunday night. So tired that Emma found an interesting use for her picnic table...

Megan enjoyed being outside too. I think it gave her some new things to look at. She was so cute in her hat I had to put a picture of that on here too.

The nice weather is supposed to continue, and aside from an occasional rain shower, I hope the kids can get outside everyday. We all have severe cabin fever!

finally...

The van is fixed, YAY! I need a vacation now. Things have been a little too crazy for me lately. I can't wait for things to get back to normal.

In other news Megan has started regulating her schedule. The past couple of nights she has slept in her bed for 4-5 hours at a time. I'm so excited. I don't know how much longer I could have functioned on 3 hours of sleep a day.

big milestone

Megan has started smiling back at us. She actually smiled at Sean first almost two weeks ago, but I think it was more like she was laughing at him rather than with him! I've been waiting to post this hoping to catch a picture of her smiling, but I haven't been fast enough yet. Baby smiles are so sweet. Who would have thought a toothless grin could make anyone so happy?
